Jingeri Jimbelungs! Greetings friends and welcome to Numinbah Valley Environmental Education Centre.
We acknowledge and pay respects to the Kombumerri people, the traditional owners of this djagun (land). This country is part of the Yugambeh Language Region across South-East Queensland. We pay respects to elders and leaders past, present and emerging
Our gaureima (story) and connection to country guides our teaching and learning interactions. We act as custodians for the environment and acknowledge local cultural practices in caring for country.
Our totem animal, the Glossy Black Cockatoo (baleirei), is known to signal the coming of rain, which means healing country and in turn, new growth. This special bird is believed by many Aboriginal groups to represent change and enlightenment.
