Learn Through Place

At Numinbah Valley Environmental Education Centre, students learn through direct experiences in natural and cultural environments that cannot be replicated in a classroom.

Our day programs combine curriculum-aligned learning, hands-on experiences and authentic fieldwork to help students develop deeper understandings of themselves, their communities and the world around them.

Whether exploring ecosystems, engaging with First Nations perspectives, investigating landscapes or developing leadership skills, every program is designed to connect learning with place.

Our Learning Journey

Understand → Experience → Care → Act → Inspire

Students progress from building connections with people, place and environment to becoming active contributors and environmental stewards. Through meaningful experiences and real-world learning, students develop the confidence and capability to create positive change in their communities and inspire others to do the same.

Many schools return to NVEEC throughout a student's schooling journey, with each visit building upon previous experiences and deepening their connection to place.
