Authentic Fieldwork. Real Data. Assessment Ready.

Senior Studies programs at Numinbah Valley Environmental Education Centre are specifically designed to support QCAA Internal Assessment 2 (IA2) requirements through authentic fieldwork experiences in real ecosystems and landscapes.

Students collect primary data, apply field methodologies, investigate environmental systems and strengthen the inquiry skills required for success in senior assessment.

Programs are available as either Day Programs or Residential Camps.

Day Program or Residential Camp?

Day Programs are fast-paced fieldwork experiences focused on data collection, investigation skills and assessment preparation.

Residential Camps provide additional time to experience the environments being studied, develop deeper understanding of ecological and geographical processes, revisit concepts over multiple days and strengthen collaboration, independence and connection to place.

Available Programs

Senior Biology
Senior Geography

More Than Assessment

While these programs are designed to support senior assessment requirements, they also provide opportunities for students to:

  • Experience learning in authentic environments
  • Strengthen collaboration and problem-solving skills
  • Develop confidence as researchers and investigators
  • Build deeper connections to environmental issues affecting their communities
